France Denies U.S. the Use of Airspace for Support in Missions Against Iran

Other NATO allies have also denied the use of military bases and airspace in their countries.

President Donald Trump responded on Tuesday to France’s recent refusal to permit U.S. aircraft to pass through their airspace during Operation Epic Fury against Iran, after Spain had done the same. Both Spain and France are members of the intergovernmental military alliance, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

President Trump stated, “The Country of France wouldn’t let planes headed to Israel, loaded up with military supplies, fly over French territory. France has been VERY UNHELPFUL with respect to the “Butcher of Iran,” who has been successfully eliminated!” He added that the United States would remember.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, “If NATO is just about us defending Europe if they’re attacked, but them denying us basing rights when we need them, then that’s not a very good arrangement. That’s a hard one to stay engaged in and say this is good for the United States.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump to be led by the Lord is his actions and responses to foreign governments.
  • For discernment for Secretary Rubio as he heads diplomatic efforts with foreign ministers and heads of state.
